Universities in America are still the number one choice for international students and have the highest number of world ranked universities. Studying in the USA gives you the chance to expand your career options, explore a huge and diverse nation, and learn from internationally-renowned teachers and researchers at USA universities & colleges.

The choice of universities in USA is the largest in the world. An American college is usually smaller and offers only undergraduate degrees, while a USA university also offers graduate degrees. In each US University or college you will find schools (or faculties) that specialize in a subject area like Business. For many of the 500,000 international students who study in USA Universities each year, the freedom to choose and change subjects and schools is also big advantage. You can begin your studies in a smaller US college, complete a two-year associate degree, and then transfer to a USA university for further study.

When to submit your application, when and how to apply for a US student visa and English language requirements are just some of the questions international students face when wanting to study in the USA.
  • Main intake is in September with a smaller intake in January
  • Application deadline for September intake is March or April – earlier for more competitive courses
  • Minimum visa requirements – Acceptance form from your chosen university, application fee and evidence of financial ability to cover costs (tuition and living expenses. Visit the United States Student Visa website for more information or read our guide to USA student visas.
  • Preferred English language test is TOEFL.
There are literally hundreds of scholarships available in Universities in US.They range from a fee discount of as little as US$500 to over US$40,000 a year.

It’s important to remember that each scholarship has different requirements. So don’t limit yourself to just one, but make sure you write a different application each and every time.

Applying for a scholarship is just like applying for a job. The one that has your name on it will require the exact skills, experience and potential that you offer. If you have already laid a solid foundation for your future career, you’re already halfway to win the scholarship you deserve.
