The
Graduate Record Examination is an eminent, admission test. This test
is given by those students who wish to take admission to a graduate
program. However, these mostly pertain to the areas of Engineering

Test
Format
- The first section is the Analytical Writing section that has two questions. This is the issue and argument task , that have a stipulated time of 30 mins each.
- The second section is the Quantitative Reasoning section which includes a total of 20 questions in each of the two sections. The set time for each section stands at 35 mins.
- The third section is the Verbal Reasoning section that approximately contains 20 questions, which are alloted 30 mins.

- Verbal Reasoning

Adaptive
Test Format
Unlike
other overseas
education
tests, the GRE test is a section adaptive test. Depending on the
answers given to the questions in a particular section, the easier or
harder section of the same type is selected.
Scoring
With
a total score of 340, a good score for an education abroad is between
310-320.
The
essays are scored on a scale of 0-6 on a 0.5 increment.
The
Quantitative Reasoning section is scored on a scale of 130-170 on a 1
point increment.
Similarly,
the Verbal Reasoning section is scored on a scale of 130-170 on a 1
point increment.
Miscellaneous
Details
The
scores of the GRE test are valid for a duration of 5 years and the
score reporting time is approximately 10-15 working days. A Computer
Based Test, the administration frequency is daily. Students can
repeat the test within 21 days, however this can only occur for a
maximum of 5 times in a calender year.
