GRE: The New Shorter Way

 

The Graduate Research Exam (GRE) is a standardised test that is widely accepted by many graduate and business schools for admissions. GRE scores are asked during admissions as a part of the application process and are mainly required for specific fields such as engineering, natural sciences, humanities, etc.

What are the new changes in GRE?

The shorter version of GRE examination was introduced for reducing the test time. Accordingly, the time taken to declare the results has been reduced. Here are some key details to be noted for the new shorter GRE.

·       The test duration of the new shorter GRE has been reduced to 2 hours 45 minutes instead of 4 hours of the old GRE.

·       The number of questions in verbal and quantitative reasoning sections have been reduced, that is, both sections will have 46 lesser questions.

·       The 10-minute scheduled break has been removed.

·       The results of the exams will be declared in 8-10 days unlike the old GRE where results were declared in 10-15 days.

·       One analytical essay, Analytical writing, Quantitative reasoning and verbal reasoning will remain the same.

·       The shorter GRE exam will be available in hybrid mode. This means that the GRE tests will be available for both the GRE at test centers and the same test taken at home.

What is the new format?
